Contributing to Kavanah SectionsThis is a featured page

The Kavanah (Hebrew "intention") portion of the weekly message is intended to inspire a change in habits. Especially, it should highlight the wonders of our planet portrayed in a day of the Genesis narrative, and show how the "Habit of the Week" honors those wonders.

Feel free to edit the initial paragraph, keeping in mind that simplicity is key. The Project New Leaves editor will have the discretion to incorporate your improvements into the weekly message.

In the following paragraphs, please add the text you would like an interested participant to see when clicking on the link for "more" that is embedded in the weekly message. The "Connecting to Genesis" section should be themed around the Genesis text, and the "Further Inspiration" section can be more free-ranging inspiration that relates to the Habit of the Week.

Under "Resources", please add references to your favorite books and articles on these subjects, links to your favorite web pages , and links to the organizations that are doing the best work. If you like, annotate your links and references.

Here are the Habits of the Week, linked to each week's "Kavanah" text. Thanks for your help!

Week 1: Use energy resources intentionally.
Week 2: Act from awareness that everyone’s lungs share the same air.
Week 3: Make space for the diversity of life.
Week 4: Make use of the gifts of sunlight and seasons.
Week 5: Act with awareness of life downstream.
Week 6: Participate in inventing a sustainable world.
Week 7: Regularly enjoy the outdoors.
