The ancients were keenly aware of the way all heavenly bodies tracked across the sky, marking changes in the seasons. From our outside the earth perspective we know that the earth’s axis is tilted. If it were not, January would be the same as July, April, or October. In fact, we there would be little interest in knowing that the earth had completed a full revolution around the sun.

When we get outdoors, when we let natural light indoors, when we eat different foods according to the times of the year, we connect ourselves to the fourth day of creation.
