To tame the “energy vampires” that add watts round the clock to your electricity bill, plug your TV, DVD, cell phone chargers, etc. into a power strip (or TV cable box) and turn them off at one throw of the switch. Turn off lights and fans when leaving a room. Install compact fluorescent light bulbs.
